He was directed to the department of "Computer engineering and pulse equipment" of KhAI to work as an assistant. In 1970 he defended the thesis for the Candidate of Technical Sciences degree on the topic, connected with the use of queueing theory methods in the control computing systems and complexes.      Sharonov V.B. was an initiator of the functional diagnostics laboratory in KHAI (1981) and one of the first chiefs of it. During the first period of laboratory existence the computer methods of data processing have been developed only for medicine and sport, but due to V.B. Sharonov's activity and close collaboration with a number of medical institutions of Kharkov, the first computer diagnostic systems of encephalography and cardiography were created whose parameters and functional possibilities were practically the same as those of the analogous systems made abroad.

Now Sharonov V.B. is the Deputy Director of the Scientific-Technical Center of Radio-Electronic and Medical Devices and Technologies "XAI-Medica", which is one of the leading scientific and industrial departments of the university where modern high-quality computer diagnostic systems and program-algorithmic products in the field of encephalography, cardiography, rheography, spirography and Holter monitoring are being developed and produced. According to the opinions of specialists they are acknowledged to be the best ones in Ukraine.
